Bloating Naturopath Gold Coast
Bloating & Digestive Issues
If bloating, reflux, or unpredictable digestion has become part of your daily routine, something is off. And it's probably not going to fix itself with another elimination diet.
At Reformative Health, I take a different approach to digestive issues. As a dual-qualified osteopath and naturopath, I look at both the internal drivers (microbiome, food sensitivities, inflammation) and the structural factors (diaphragm tension, abdominal guarding, nervous system regulation) that most practitioners assess in isolation, if they assess them at all.
What Our Naturopath Appointments Can Help With
Bloating that builds throughout the day. IBS and irregular bowel habits. Reflux and upper digestive discomfort. Cramping, excessive gas, and abdominal pain. Food reactions that seem to be getting worse. Gut symptoms alongside fatigue, brain fog, or skin issues.
You don't need a diagnosis to come and see us. If your digestion is affecting how you feel day to day, that's reason enough.

How We Work
Naturopathic assessment and support
We start with your full clinical picture: history, symptoms, diet, sleep, stress, and what you've already tried. From there, treatment may include targeted dietary guidance, evidence-based herbal medicine, and specific supplementation based on your presentation. If functional testing is warranted, we'll explain exactly why before recommending it.
The structural side other practitioners miss
Your digestive organs sit within a framework of muscles, fascia, and connective tissue. Chronic tension through the diaphragm can contribute to reflux. Tightness through the abdominal wall and pelvic floor can slow motility and drive bloating. Stress-driven muscular guarding can impair vagal tone, your nervous system's 'rest and digest' switch.
As an osteopath, I assess and treat these structural contributors alongside the naturopathic work. Most naturopaths can't offer this. Most osteopaths don't think to look for it.
What to Expect From Your First Appointment
Whether you've been told it's 'just IBS' with no clear next step, you've tried elimination diets without lasting results, or your gut issues started after stress, antibiotics, or travel and never fully resolved, your first consultation is designed to actually get somewhere. It runs longer than a standard appointment because we need the full picture.
We go through your history, your symptoms, what you've already tried, and what's going on in your life, then explain what we think is driving it and give you a practical starting plan before you leave. Follow-ups are where we refine based on how your body responds.

Common Questions We Get
Do I need a referral?
No. Book directly. If you have a GP Chronic Disease Management Plan, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate on the osteopathic component. We accept all private health funds that cover naturopathy and osteopathy.
Will I need expensive testing?
Not necessarily. Many patients improve through clinical assessment, dietary changes, and herbal support alone. Testing is only recommended when it'll meaningfully change the direction of your plan.
Where exactly is the clinic?
We're at Unit 2/8 Flint Court, Varsity Lakes, inside Fit Life Boot Camp. There's easy parking right out front, and we're a short drive from Burleigh Heads, Robina, and surrounding Gold Coast south suburbs.
Can you help if I'm already seeing a Doctor?
Absolutely. We work alongside specialist care, not in place of it. Our role is to address the dietary, lifestyle, and structural factors that may still be contributing to your symptoms after medical investigation. If your gastroenterologist has ruled out serious pathology but you're still not feeling right, that's exactly where we come in.
What Makes Our Approach Different
Most naturopaths focus on diet, supplements, and testing. That's part of what we do, but it's not the full picture. As a dual-qualified osteopath and naturopath, Sam also assesses the structural factors that influence how your gut functions. Diaphragm restriction, thoracic spine tension, and abdominal wall tightness can all contribute to bloating, reflux, and poor motility. If your digestive issues haven't responded to dietary changes alone, there may be a structural reason why. You get both sides assessed and treated in the same consultation, with one practitioner who understands how they connect.
