Naturopath for Fatigue and Low Energy on the Gold Coast
Being tired is normal. Being tired after a full night of sleep, week after week, is worth looking into properly. At Reformative Health in Varsity Lakes, we assess what may be driving your energy levels rather than treating tiredness as something to push through.
The Kind of Tired That Sleep Does Not Fix
Most people who come to us about fatigue have already done the obvious things. They are sleeping reasonable hours, they are eating well enough, they have had blood tests that came back within range, and they still feel flat.
What they describe tends to fall into patterns:
-
Waking unrefreshed after a full night, sometimes feeling worse than when they went to bed.
-
A heavy drop in the early afternoon that coffee only partly covers.
-
Being physically exhausted but unable to switch off at night, the tired-but-wired pattern.
-
Energy that has not come back properly after an illness, a stressful period, or a heavy block of training.
-
Brain fog and low motivation sitting alongside the tiredness rather than separate from it.
These patterns may matter clinically. They point in different directions, and that is the starting point for assessment rather than a label to apply to everyone who is tired.

What We Look At
Nutrient status
Particularly iron and ferritin, B12, folate, vitamin D and zinc, which are commonly relevant in fatigue and low mood.
Digestive function
Since how well you absorb what you eat affects what is available to you. You can read more on our gut health page.
Cortisol rhythm
Including how your nervous system is responding to the demands currently on it, which is often where the tired-but-wired pattern sits.
Thyroid function
Including markers that are not always included in a standard panel.
Sleep quality
Our naturopathy page covers our approach to sleep in more detail.

What a Plan May Involve
Once we understand your picture, your plan is built around it. Depending on what your assessment shows, that may include:
-
Targeted nutritional support
-
Dietary adjustments focused on meal composition and timing, particularly where energy dips track with blood sugar.
-
Herbal medicine to support the stress response or sleep, where appropriate for you.
-
Practical changes to light exposure, stimulant timing and evening routine, built around your schedule rather than generic sleep advice.
-
A realistic view of training and activity load, including when to pull back and when to build.
When Fatigue Has a Physical Side
For some people, low energy sits alongside persistent tension, poor sleep positioning, or an injury that has not settled. Because Sam is also a Gold Coast osteopath, she can assess both sides of that in the one clinic and discuss whether hands-on care may be a useful part of your broader plan.
This integrated approach is particularly relevant for active people whose energy has not returned after a heavy training block, and for anyone whose sleep is being disturbed by physical discomfort. Our sports osteopathy page covers how we support athletes and active people.
When To See Your GP
Fatigue is a symptom with a long list of possible medical causes, and some of them need a doctor. Diagnosis and medical management sit with your GP, and we work alongside that rather than around it.
If you have not had recent blood work, we will encourage you to get it. If you have, bring the results with you, because the reference range tells you whether something is flagged, not necessarily whether it is optimal for you. Where results are abnormal or your presentation suggests something that needs investigating, we will refer you back to your GP.
Naturopathic care sits in the space alongside that: the dietary, nutritional, sleep and lifestyle factors that influence how you feel day to day.

Frequently Asked Questions
My blood tests were normal. Is there any point seeing a naturopath?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people book in. Normal results are useful information: they help rule things out and they tell us where to look next. From there we assess the dietary, digestive, sleep and stress factors that a standard panel does not cover.
Will I be put on a pile of supplements?
No. Supplements may be part of a plan where there is a clear reason for one, but they are never the whole plan. Most of what moves the needle for fatigue sits in food, sleep, stress load and how consistently you are able to follow through.
What happens in the first consultation?
It is a comprehensive review of your health history, current symptoms and lifestyle, covering your diet, sleep patterns, stress levels and health goals. Sam may also review recent pathology results or recommend functional testing to get a clearer picture before any recommendations are made.
Can you work alongside my GP?
Absolutely. We regularly support patients who are also under the care of a GP or specialist, and we will encourage you to keep them involved.
