Meet Dr Samantha Evans (Osteopath)

Osteopath
B.ClinSc, M.Ost.Med
Dr Samantha Evans commenced her studies at RMIT in Melbourne before relocating to the Gold Coast at the start of 2020, when she transferred to Southern Cross University to obtain her Master of Osteopathic Medicine.
She has a direct, hands-on approach to treatment that includes massage, myofascial stretching, joint mobilisation, manipulation, and exercise rehabilitation to address her patients' concerns. Additionally, she has taping, dry needling, and myofascial cupping certifications.
Sam has a collaborative approach to care. This means she actively involves her patients in the creation and implementation of their care plans so that they can have a recovery plan that is personal to them. She educates her patients to empower them with the knowledge necessary for symptom management and recovery to achieve their health goals. She often provides her patients with exercises to improve the body's functioning. She emphasises the importance of how lifestyle factors can influence pain and recovery. This includes stress management, sleep, and daily activities.

To further add to her education, Sam is studying a Master of Naturopathic Medicine. On weekends, she works as a sports trainer for the AFL and VFL Umpires.

"I love all things health and wellness. Exercise has always been a big part of my life, and I'm always searching for new ways to improve my health and that of my patients. My current research is finding nutritional and herbal alternatives for pain management.

I tried most sports growing up but have always been passionate about netball and AFL. As someone who's very competitive and loves to exercise, I love working with injured athletes to get back to their sport as quickly and as safely as possible.

I have been very fortunate to work for the AFL for the past 8 years. It has given me lots of valuable experience dealing with acute injuries as they occur. "
